How it Works
1st Line Medical is an Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF) providing Prescription Based testing services specifically for ENT, Sleep Surgeons, Sleep Physicians & their patients nationwide with the most patient friendly system available, the SleepImage Ring. By utilizing revolutionary Peripheral Arterial Tone (PAT) technology, the prospect of diagnosing Obstructive Sleep Apnea for the millions of individuals suffering with it in the US, has been dramatically simplified. With more than 2 decades of combined experience in the diagnosis and treatment of OSA, 1st Line Medical is pleased to enable the use of the PAT technology to permit patients to undergo Sleep Studies in unparalleled comfort at home in their own bed!
The SleepImage system achieves clinically proven accuracy in a non-obtrusive manner that optomizes patient comfort and convenience and provides a realistic depiction of actual sleep parameters that is difficult - if not impossible - to achieve in a Sleep Lap environment, at a fraction of the cost of an overnight Polysomnography (Sleep Lab Study).
Home Sleep Testing is now recognized in the medical policies of virtually all insurers as well as by the Centers for Medicare Services (CMS) as appropriate for patients with a High-Likelihood of OSA as well as for patients that need to undergo Follow-Up Studies to confirm the effects of therapy, lifestyle changes or surgery in the treatment of their OSA. It is also useful for screening out the highly debilitating condition of OSA for patients that are considering treatments for snoring, as snoring is often an indicator of OSA, and it is highly recommended to diagnose prior to undergoing any procedure or therapy for snoring and can be arranged for a nominal fee.
